Machinery HMI remote control

A phone app that runs an industrial PVC-processing machine over Bluetooth, sold together with the machine.

Problem

Operators of PVC window-processing machinery had to stand at the panel to run every job. Plastmach wanted the human-machine interface in the operator’s pocket.

Solution

A mobile HMI that connects to the machine over Bluetooth, shows its live position and sends start, stop and target commands. The machine confirms every command before the screen changes, and values outside its limits are refused. Operators load cutting recipes from a QR code or a laser scanner, and can say a length instead of typing it. Each machine model is a definition file, so a new model needs no new screens. In Romanian, English and Turkish.

Results

Sold to Plastmach’s customers together with the machine and installed directly on the operators’ phones.
